Tanya E. Walker

     Dr. Walker is an associate professor of African American Literature and chair of the Department of English at Winston-Salem State University. She has taught at Winston-Salem State University since August 2005. She has a B.A. in English from Bennett College, an M.A. in English and African American Literature from North Carolina A&T State University, and a Ph.D. in English with a specialization in African American Literature from Howard University. Dr. Walker’s current research interests include childhood and sexual trauma in Black women’s writings as well as migration in Gullah texts.
