M. Alex Evans is a staff attorney on Disability Rights North Carolina’s education team. He completed his Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where he researched issues surrounding the history of education justice, racism, punishment, and schools, with a particular focus on Wake County public schools. He also has a passion for advocating for those with disabilities. 

     Evans is a proud double graduate of North Carolina Central University, graduating with a B.A. in Music/Ethnomusicology and a JD with an interest in civil rights and education law.
