Allen Thomas attended Appalachian State University-Scholars with Diverse Abilities Program, where he majored in journalism. During his tenure at Appalachian State University, Allen was an Education Peer Ambassador, a desk clerk, and worked in food services in the cafeteria. Presently, Allen is a self-advocate and trainee in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (LEND) at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD). He is interested in learning about different ways to advocate for people with disabilities and to help educate others.
